The saddest part of life's
the loss
when all is not a dream.

To wake and learn that life
on earth
does not flow like a stream.

The crying hurt and tears
that fall
so simply when alone.

Cannot express the dark
black nights
the struggle from the tomb.

The freedom in the fields
of grain
with wind upon my hair.

I brush away the ghostly cast
the seems
to stay and stare.

My one escape from feeling
trapped
to rest my weary legs.

Must drag them from the soft
warm bed
in hopes of steady sted.

I wipe the wet from blue ringed
eyes flood
filled the hours with prayer

My dreams sincere if I
could steal
the time I slept with care

When sun arises on windows
clear
which blots the reverie

That seemed so real in slumber
wakes
your voice my alchemy

Quite strangely, I was reading a few articles on depression a few weeks ago here on Hubpages. While on the trail, this one video turned up and I penned the beginnings of a poem to go along with the movie. Today, I returned and had totally forgotten what had been written or that there was a video. Meanwhile, going back to finishing the poem, moving some words around, getting the rhythm and rhyme until finally its done.

Click. The page refreshes and not only do I see the words at the top of the page, but now suddenly the video reappears. I watch it and realize this was what I was writing about, since typically I'm not depressed in the way of these words. And, magically, the reworking with rewording the phrases and imagery fits to a tea, making sense of the poetry.

Haiku Poem | Serendipity By Chance this poem wrote itself. I called it Hunt and Peck From Books In My Imagination. And added Priscilla Ahn innocent videos and song to follow your dreams.

Poetry Spirit In G-d's Name |

This Hubpages revolves around a story of a young girl limited by physical handicap and how she feels. The saddest part of depression occurs when you awake from a dream.

Ha, Ha, Ha! Dear Colin, you found your special MailGram. Do you remember the day when those were the means of fast communication? Wouldn't the folks from yesterday be in total amazement about live chat, text messages and the like? We live in a wondrous world and you make it that way! Love, Debby

This poem is truly wonderful in so many ways, including the style/look. It works so well. Then when you add in the video clip the whole thing becomes so wonderfully enchanted and haunting! But incredibly graceful, and sorrowful too. Basically to sum it up...this poem is amazing, a proper gem!

I really like your writing style and skill, and I cannot wait to read more of your work!

Beautiful. It's a pity that life doesn't flow like a stream. I enjoyed reading this.

Ps. I also read the New Hub on SOPA. Lots of important info. Thanks.

Hello Elena ~ I appreciate the time you spent to read the poem and contemporary issue blog. The internet changes so quickly and all the things around us, that no wonder life does not flow like a stream, unless we were fish. And, in that case, I'm afraid our water may be polluted. So, what's a fish to do?

Hello Ashantina ~ Always nice to have you peeking over those glasses to review my poems and audio. So lovely you took the time to listen. Many blessings to you both, Debby

Great hub Debby, You're a very gifted poet. Anyone who has been depressed or deeply saddened, like so many of us have, can really relate to your poem. To feel the weight of all your sorrows bearing down on you day after day is a depressing idea in and of itself, but to be able to write about it so fluidly is very beautiful. Great job.

I appreciate the sentiment Saleel. There is a saying that the lower you can go means you can attain the same in how high you can climb. Think about bouncing up after hitting bottom. Blessings, Debby

You've written this poem so rhythmically that anyone can put a tune for it very easily. Realizing the dreams brings joy but failing to get it brings depression.

Voted up as beautiful, awesome and interesting.

Hello Radhikasree ~ Yes. I feel that the dreaming state was imaginary of the subconscious mind to escape the suffering of daily life. Blessings, Debby
