Staphylococcus Bacteria Lives in Humans Body But Does Not Harm Everyone More on MRSA | Staph

Apologies
Before you begin reading, I would like to apologize if I have been too harsh or said anything to hurt feelings. This tone of this hub turned quite sarcastic while trying to make a few points. It was not intended to say something about any particular persons, but only to illustrate certain points about human nature and that includes myself.
Luckily, someone pointed out to me that it was not professional, thus, I am revising this to reflect a more generalized view to make particular points.
1. When we use certain tools, whether it is to paint a picture, build a structure, communicate with others, construct a form of transportation, or find a method to heal, our results are bound by the limitations or possibilities of those tools.
This applies to science, research and medicine, as well. A well known thought expressing that a surgeon will recommend cutting it out, an oncologist will suggest chemotherapy, while a radiologist will consider radiation. We all use the tools of our trade to find the solutions.
Only those with an open mind and collaborative spirit will find the solutions in another field. And, often times, if the solutions can be found in another field, the person who desires success may cross over and change career specialties in order to provide that kind of service for their client; or a combination of the best methods.
2. It takes an enormous amount of energy and determination to overcome natural tendencies to persevere or rationalize when we've traveled down the wrong road on a venture. This goes for investing in the stock market or devoting years and funding into medical research.
The maze of life and research bring out our motivations to reach a goal. As kids we take a pencil and try to find the path from the mouse to the cheese, or the from the center of the maze to the escape route to freedom. The little investment in pencil to paper allows for many mistakes and retries. Perhaps our brain circuitry begins to form a pattern for the rest of our lives of how we will approach similar puzzles. Maybe someone has done a statistical analysis of the point in time when a person will more easily turn around and find another route once they've chosen a certain path. Or, on the other hand, when they've invested so much time, energy and resources that it becomes almost impossible to turn around and find a new path.
I suppose that is why when everything crashes, collapses or explodes, it is easier to start fresh with the knowledge of what went wrong the first time. That way, human nature can wipe the slate clean, and build a better mouse trap.
3. Mankind bears the burden of overcoming some unpleasant virtues. We all do. I believe we are all biased, and have tendencies toward becoming corrupt. Only the righteous will not be bribed, or self regulate when put into a compromising position.
We've all been there. Everyone has received the wrong amount of change from a grocery store clerk, the automated teller or when making a purchase. No problem to speak up if you've been short-changed, but what about when you received the overage? Did you give it back without flinching?
We see the sickness in all corners of our society and wonder where we went wrong. When did we lose our self pride in performing at our best? When did we get lazy? Remember these are general concepts and not pointing at any particular person. I admit, addictions are rampant, whether it is to coffee, chocolate, alcohol, drugs, television, computer, sports and even work. Pleasures can rule us, rather than us putting each of our rewards and pleasures into its proper place in a balanced life.
4. Trying to use a play on words, which seemed appropriate, but maybe some people were not making the connection, will be revised. Because this is text and not a talk, the reader is unable to 'hear' the voice and inflection, see facial expression, nor discern whether a joke or exaggeration was humorous or disingenuous.
5. The more we learn, the more we realize we do not know.
LATE BREAKING NEWS
A single antibiotic-resistant pathogen, MRSA—just one of many now circulating among Americans—now claims more lives each year than AIDS.
- Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) was responsible for an estimated 94,000 life-threatening infections and 18,650 deaths in 2005, CDC researchers report in the Oct. 17 issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association.
- Many of these infections are due to the factory farm raised animals and overuse of antibiotics which in turn stimulate production of resistant strains of bacteria.

It's The Soil
Staph’s Trail Points to Human Susceptibility
NYTimes Article on the nature of our blood in relationship to staphylococcus bacterium informs us that scientists, by observing the activity in the cell, will be able to answer unsolved medical mysteries. Why are some people more susceptible to attack than others?
Scientists "...have finally found an answer to one of the great mysteries about the most deadly bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus — why it attacks primarily humans and not animals."
Some basic principles of healing and growth on earth can be found in the soil or the building blocks of life. Naturalists will tell you that living things need fresh air to breath, sunshine to produce food and nourishment, clean water to hydrate, circulate and flush out toxins and rich porous soil for roots to take hold and support the rest of the plant or organism. This is the metaphor for life.

Organic Soil versus Chemically Fertilized Soil
As humans, we are the soil, If we have a healthy rich soil then life will flourish. If we have depleted our soil, then weeds will grow and overtake the system. I ask, if we have created sterile body soils by our treatment of diet, lifestyle and medications have we opened the body to disease making our systems susceptible to weed over-growth? Are we in a weakened, depleted state? Or have we enhanced our natural protective abilities by amending the soil with nutrients and the basic necessities for life? Why are some people more susceptible to bacteria and viral attack? Are there hereditary factors at play? What about our mental emotional states of being? Have there been accidents or something that happened at birth? We have more questions than answers when it comes to maintaining a healthy mind and body.
Learn From Two Centuries of Practice
Many say that the homeopathic consultation and the time spent caring and talking to the patient contributes to the healing response. This may be true, and does not account for the placebo effect. But, more importantly, the intake of these factors and complete information contributes to the overall picture of the person, and helps the physician determine a reliable matching energetic remedy to assist the person boost the immune and healing systems.
The comparison of the perspective of a holistic practitioner and the researcher who works in a specialized field may illustrate where we have gone wrong in our attempt to strengthen the soil; our body.
More precisely, the homeopath has a view of the world and healing based upon fundamental laws of nature that have been proven and continue to be proven using human subjects in their totality. By observing the human response to substances in nature, the homeopath documents the characteristic symptoms of humans in relationship to their environment and their interactions with natural elements, including bacteria and viruses. Only, they don't simply give it a label, they talk about the pattern and energetic mode of action and response.
No matter what the particular invading germ, bacteria, virus, or toxin, the body responds in a particular manner which then tells the homeopath to search for the most similar substance in nature to utilize as the healing agent.
In some cases, a nosode, or diseased matter can be the effective healing agent in classical homeopathic diluted and potentized form, given in the proper sequence and repetition, based upon the dynamic interaction of the remedy to the patient.
The typical Western philosophical approach to health is to specialize. Divide and conquer. To search deeper into the body, using clinical tests to seek out the offending organism. This approach and theory differs from the homeopathic approach because it does not accept the "We are the soil" premise. Read on...
Staphylococcus Serious Contagious Disease
It devastates 100,000 Americans per year and I wonder how many internationally are affected? We would like this figure and to be able to compare the numbers. Why would so many American's be affected. In a previous article, we know that this bacteria has been passed as a contagious disease from India and other Asian countries.
We Are The Soil That Grows Good and Bad Bacteria
Have we weakened our own systems with processed foods, polluted environments, reduction in physical exercise, not enough rest, over abundance of stress and other non-natural factors that we have induced these diseases upon ourselves?
We Are As Good As Our Life Blood
We have heard from biblical times that the blood is the life source. Blood oxygenates the cells and the body. Blood carries our heredity and circulates throughout the body. Blood feeds tumors. Red blood is rich in iron and must take a unique form and number of cells to keep the body running in good condition. A Vanderbilt University report states that
"...staph evolved to zero in on particular regions of human hemoglobin so it could burst the cagelike molecule and feed on the iron inside."
Those who are not susceptible to this weakened state in their blood cell structure cannot succumb to the staph bacteria. Are these people getting plenty of sunshine and exercise, deep breathing and rich leafy vegetables that carry iron? I wonder?
Does Looking In The Microscope Bring Us Closer To Answers?
Of course, the researchers look deeper into the body. They seek the lower common denominator, the tiniest particle to answer their questions. The genes, the DNA or other factors may answer their questions. A number of scientists in the computer age believe the genetic code will answer all ills. If we can find the broken and damaged codes and made a repair we have found the elixir of life. This type of approach may take decades or more, and in the meantime, the bacteria and viruses will have mutated; and dynamic humans will have to evolve along with everything else.
Only The Nose Knows
How funny that 30% of people provide sanctuary for the staphylococcus bacteria in their noses, with no signs of infection. Can this be? Is there a symbiotic relationship going on? Could the bacteria in these hardy people be in some state of balance? Could the bacteria even be protecting these people from some worse invasion?
What Have The Researchers Discovered?
Like all humans, we interpret our findings. We try to make sense and meaning out of our experiences and observations. We construct those inferences based upon our own framework of knowledge. An artist will view it one way, a computer programmer another, and a geneticist still another way. How will the researchers interpret their findings? We all lean toward what we hope the outcome will be, or how we feel we can move to the next step or how it fits into our framework. Like it or not, we all make judgement calls along the way.
Here's the tricky part, as indicated in the preface of this article. When you, me or researchers turn down the wrong road, how long before we turn around and go back or take another pathway? How hard is it to reverse course and set sail in another direction? A number of factors may influence the decision, like how much time was invested, how many people are involved, how much resources did it take to get here, how many people are counting on you, how many years have you been searching and the like. What if a new bit of information comes into play, will we toss it because it doesn't fit the framework, will we include it and reinterpret the discovery?
Staphylocccocus Related to Heart Disease
“Staph is the worst infectious threat to public health,” he said. “It is the No. 1 cause of heart infections and skin infections, the No. 1 cause of soft tissue infections. It is a big cause of pneumonia. It is the No. 1 hospital acquired infection.”
Just because bacteria need iron to survive, like an alien vampire sucking your blood, that does not mean that we must remove the iron from the red blood cells so the bacteria do not have what to live upon. If hemoglobin is important to staph, it is also important to humans. Somehow some people maintain a balance and harmony where upon the staph live quietly in the body and still the person has the right amount of iron.
Through experimentation, researchers realized these bacteria prefer human hemoglobin over any other animal hemoglobin. A selective protein was found to attach to the cell of higher mammals. This bit of information might be helpful in some way. Perhaps, it shows how bacteria and humans evolved through history to form a perfect relationship.
Are We Mice or Humans?
Due to practical and legal issues, using crude substances on human subjects is not feasible. Therefore, scientists must use other animals, preferably mammals similar to humans, like mice, dogs, cats and monkeys. Homeopathic research and provings does not necessitate this type of experimentation. Homeopathic remedies are reduced to "the minimum dose" and will not cause harm or side-effects. They are safe for everyone. Nevertheless, in an attempt to understand more about the bacteria behavior, they were grown on a combination of mice and human blood cells.
This specialized cell grew 10 times more bacteria than regular mice hemoglobin. The conclusion indicates if staph bacterial love to live in the human body, and do not like to grow in mice cells. I imagine, the next step in this discovery is to translate it to human subjects and an all human hemoglobin cell. More research needed.
The Scientists Conclusions
Let us look at their unanswered question. "Why does one-third of the population have the bacteria in their noses and not get sick while, for others, a staph infection can be lethal?"
I'm looking forward to further research where they may examine the different types of people, their hereditary backgrounds, their lifestyles, their diets, how often they get sick with all types of diseases, if they often get colds and infections to get a complete picture of the people in the study. Maybe they will be able to publish the totality of their scientific method and findings in an open forum for everyone to read.
Further Research Needed
The article tells that the Medical Center that carries on this research contains a gene bank with the DNA of thousands of its patients. Usually, this type of intensive investigation into the DNA requires many years and many millions of dollars to develop potential drugs to address rapidly mutating bacteria of this nature.
More Clinical Tests In Our Future
We know that MRSA is at its worse in the sanitary hospital settings. The future holds a vision for these scientists that the patient will come to a hospital for their routine work-up and examine their hemoglobin type to determine whether or not they are susceptible to staph.
These susceptible people will be able to receive preventative intravenous antibiotics before risky procedures like surgery. Many people with heart-valve problems also receive antibiotics before any dental work today.
Looking Forward To Hearing Your Opinion On This Type Of Research
How about it everyone. What's your opinion? Should we maybe strengthen our immune system and stop the over use of antibiotic soaps in an attempt to wipe out a race of staphylococcus bacteria that can more easily and rapidly mutate into a new form before we can say, "germicidal eradication?"

Very interesting and useful hub, Debby. I love it when something is relevant to me (I'm so self centred). I was dragged into the A&E department of the local hospital with suspected pleurisy or pneumonia two nights ago. Thank God, it was only (!) a nasty lung infection and I'm now on antibiotics. So those evil little Staphylococcus aureus have been ganging up on me have they? The next time I meet one face to face, I won't be able to remember his name, but I'll tell him there are mice around who can kick his arse, so why pick on me.
Back to bed for me with more ginger and lemon tea.
Happy Christmas to you too, Debbie. I shall read that hub. Garlic and ginger and all sorts of Indian masalas (spice) is what makes this man nice. I have someone who is an excellent cook of sub Continental cuisine, so with fruits etc. my body gets the right stuff.
Big hug to you too.
Thank you for sharing this incredibly complex situation of human bodies and bacteria
Debbie, my profile says that I have sub Continental connections, so a lot of my friends are Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi, and I think you would be fascinated by the recipes for all sorts of conditions and situations; some almost being magical potions, but relying on centuries of experience. I agree with you wholeheartedly about "seeing the world with new eyes".
2,400 year old soup? No I haven't seen the recipe yet, but I think I have some at the back of the refrigerator.
Talking about revelation and an eye opener, you really done it in full. Thank you for your hard work producing this brilliant hub.
Hi Debby, a lot of meat in this soup of an article. Twilight "I think I have some in the back of my refrigerator." Hilarious.
I rarely have trouble, maybe it is the cooking with iron pans and the spinach. Thank you for showing us how to change by amending your own article. We guys never ask directions and if we think we're going in the wrong direction we speed up. Cheers. =:)
DB,
100% on board here- I have had several staph infections-lucky mehuh- Sometimes they have come about without any cuts-pathway to the blood so... I gotta staph infection - flare up when I got a bruise in my leg- with the missing/removed vein- so this hub is dead on as I see it how else could it happen?
TH
The most useful Homeopathic medicines for Staphylococcus bacterial infection are Echenecia, Heper sulph and silicea. Final selection of medicine for individual patient should be made on analyzing totality of symptoms.

I liked this Hub , I actually took a M.R.S.A. stand on my previous job about it ,a personal vendetta , if you will . I contracted M.R.S.A. from my workplace , was misdiagnosed , almost died , ended up in the hospital ,with all the drain tubes in my legs , then came home continued treatment , went back to work after a blood test that it was gone , got it again , was mis diagnosed , almost died again ,went back into the hospital , drain tubes now in my lower back , was in for two weeks that time with a port in my neck for meds. Got out , had to have a major surgery 3 months later , had to get a blood test to make sure M.R.S.A. WAS GONE , and it was , i had my surgery , and guess what ! the day i left the hospital , i told the doctor i did not feel well , he released me anyway , by the time my duaghter drove me home i had a 105 fever , dilirious and almost died once more , I contracted M.R.S.A. from the hospital , with it in my abdomen that time ! i almost died again , 3 more weeks in hospital ...now im finally M.R.S.A free , but it took alot of work and dedication to who you are around, when you are around them etc etc etc thelist goes on and on ! Even though you think you are a clean person and/or a clean person , staff lives in our bodies ,and once it gets a taste of the superbug , it is a problem , but it ISNT like AIDS it just kills more people than aids . It is common in cancer patients because of the low immune system it is also common in aids patients because of their low immune system as well . It is a frightening epidemic because of the children that spread it so easily and the people that do not wash their hands like they should , this is one tough illness and it has to be diagnosed correctly the first time .. I got lucky 3 times . I will pay for it the rest of my life. meaning , i have this fear of being aorund people , and thinking that they dont wash long enough or correctly , me? well i have O.C.D and cleaning and bathing is something that is drastic in my home and has been all of my life. Thanks for this hub , i hope it enlightens people , because this would certainly be a painful death to anyone . i voted up all the way across the board , have a blessed evening:)
Thank you for your response. Yes I Have cured some Staphylococcus infected patients with those medicines
( Acid Flour., Echenecia and Heper sulph ).

People are actually creaturs afraid of everything - big enemies, small enemies, microenemies ... Aren`t people a little bit too paranoid, so this is main disease to be healed?
Excellent Hub, I couldn`t agree more. I especially love your sentence "we are the soil..."
Hugs and love
