Once upon a time

I awoke from a dream state

His eyes were like mine

On that day I knew

The world warm with blue skies

Together we flew

That one clear bright day

When hearts melt and fuse as one

God made them that way

Hours on the Internet

I must have surfed to six different web sites searching for I don't even remember what now. At first, it was to find a particular video that would be playable on the blog pages. It appears not all formats will play. I tried Hulu and they sent me to another page with 'embed' code available. But, you know how it is when not everything works.

We have a choice, plug away, try and try, or move on. So, after a few efforts, I clicked away and went to Vimeo where I found an assortment of artistic pieces that were tempting to share, until this lovely song appeared.

Even though the controversy will seem obvious in the images, the song lyrics themselves are pure gold. A simple love song about finding the one that completes you. When you know its right and the two people all goo-goo, cuddly and snuggly, rubbing noses and holding hands, looking in each others eyes. Whether this is the first love, which some people may call puppy love, or growing into a family unit, time marches on and even in the senior years that spark remains.

All types of relationships shown by the film director, John Cameron Mitchell, included those of heterosexual, the same sex, plus many racial persuasions and ages. This not so subtle message seems to say that people fall in love without judgment, just because that was the way it was meant to be. To me, this is just a love song, no matter who sings it, the words come from the heart.

In the film, there were a few characters who didn't have a partner. Were these people who had lost someone, or apart from their mate? Can someone tell us what the producer means to say?

The Plot

Would you say this film tells a story about a family at a party, or a gathering of friends, or people shuffling through songs at a music store? Each one has a headset on all throughout the song. Are they listening to the song and in their expressions at each stanza depicting how they feel?

Happy Valentine's Day This February

Only now do I realize that February 14th will be upon us. I have a few family birthdays to celebrate, both my son and my grandson were born in this month. Love is certainly in the air even though snowflakes and chilly weather tell the season. On my walk today, I took a photo of a bunch of crocus in full bloom. Didn't they know we still have two more winter months yet to go?

About The Band

You can learn more about the "Bright Eyes" band beginnings and history on Wikipedia. I guess their name tells their outlook on life. Whenever I ask my Indian friends about their future, they all answer the same thing, "Bright!" This so amazes me, but they must have this inner spirit of believing things will get better in a world of suffering, pain and poverty.

Bright Eyes, an American indie rock band founded by singer-songwriter and guitarist Conor Oberst. It consists of Oberst, multi-instrumentalist and producer Mike Mogis, trumpet and piano player Nate Walcott, and a rotating lineup of collaborators drawn primarily from Omaha's indie music scene.

Their recording label, Saddle Creek Records, based in Nebraska was founded by Conor Oberst's brother Justin Oberst and Bright Eyes member Mike Mogis, with Sony Corp as distributors. Many people have heard the song highlighted here as an advertisement background music and possibly while shopping around town.
