Why Doesn't Google Show The Photo In Our Hubpages On The Main Page
64Brittany Todd asked the question,
-
"Why doesn't Google show the photo in our hub? If you ever tried to search the keywords for your hub and find yourself on the first page, you'll notice that the text is there, but no thumbnail. Why doesn't the first photo in our hub show next to the title in Google?
Immediately, I clicked over to Google to see what she was talking about. Since, it is January 18, 2012, you will notice that Google's page looks quite unusual as many websites protest the Sopa and Pipa legislation that may take away freedoms on the internet. So, everyone has blacked out either their logo, their front page, or closed shop entirely for 12 to 24 hours.
Well, besides that, the demonstration of finding images on your Hubpages search will be shown very clearly. I hope this answers the question. Basically, all a person needs to do is 'mouse-over' the arrow on the right side of the blog description and a pop-up window appears of the Hubpages complete view, photographs and all.
It is true that initially you will not see 'any' photographs or images from any of the articles listed in your search. But, that should not deter you or anyone else from clicking to visit the article in question. Please watch the 2 minutes video tutorial below.
A Very Short Answer To The Question
Okay, While I'm at it, I shall provide another answer to a question on Hubpages posted by Luis Gonzeles
He asks the question:
-
Traffic sources and Twitter Under the statistics banner; under traffic sources; Twitter does not show, but Facebook does, yet I know that there are visits from Twitter. Where do they show?
Here is my answer to the question:
-
Go to your dashboard for hubpages stats
Take a look at the Red Arrows
-
This is your MY HUB STAT PAGE
-
Click the TRAFFIC SOURCES LINK
-
Click the DOMAIN Menu and that will put your list of domains into alphabetical order. In this instance below, it is reverse alphabetical order with the last letter of the alphabet showing at the top.
-
You can see 'TWITTER' listed
The last screen shot points out how to read your graph.
-
For each domain listed on the left hand column you will see
-
Statistics for visits with in the past 24 hours
-
Statistics for visits with in the past 7 days
-
Statistics for visits with in the past 30 days (month)
-
Statistics for visits that have ever been made (total)
I do question the statistics for my twitter visits within this past 24 hours to a month as showing ZERO, since in just one of my hubs for #StopSopa I have had 170 visits and I know for sure they weren't coming from all Hubpages members and many people were tweeting the link on twitter. So, these figures are quite surprising and I'm wondering if they are tallied correctly.
Part Three of This Surprising Tutorial Follows as an after effect to publishing this hub. I clicked the MAKE A HUB ABOUT IT RESPONSE in the Question / Answer section of Hubpages.
Once you do this, you are guided to begin a new hubpages entry as you normally do each time you start to write a new hub. When I completed the hubpage and clicked "PUBLISH" the hub was AUTOMATICALLY published directly as an answer to the question.
What surprised me was that my profile avatar was not published next to my answer. Instead, the first photo image from the hub turned up inside the square that usually holds the avatar. So there you have it! Voila and surprise!
