Discoverable: How to Make Apple Magic Mouse Mighty Mouse Work
By Debby Bruck
Mighty Mouse is Here To Save The Day
Can it be a Mouse Without a Tail?
A little birdie tells me more and more people are moving over to a Mac. Long time loyal PC Brand computer users are switching over, even if they are not mega-bit users doing graphic design. The reason is safety from spam, hacking, the beauty of the machine and design, it is lightweight making traveling easy, the incredible features and now ~ Voila ~ along comes the MAGIC MOUSE.
I'm calling it a Mighty-Mouse because that inimitable cartoon character saves the day!
It's easy to use once you get the hang of it. The design is incredibly sleek and 'touchably' good and versatile. It uses Bluetooth technology, which means there is no cord to tangle or dangle. You use the 'Discoverable' icon in the top menu to locate the mouse and hook it up to the computer. They talk to each other.
I was extremely fortunate it came out when it did. For my birthday I got the Mac because my PC was slow and constantly crashing. So, new? My computer mouse was the previous latest version. And when the Magic Mouse appeared on the scene just days after the arrival of my new computer & mouse, I simply returned it and upgraded to the Magic Mouse. Cool!
What I'm wondering is if we should be calling it a 'mouse' anymore?
Is it even a mouse anymore? There’s no tail! Is there such a thing as a mouse without a tail? Wasn't that the origin how this tool got its name? It doesn't have an 'eye' either. There is no track ball for it to 'run around' the house. There are no messy droppings. It doesn't eat up left overs. It doesn't get sticky and yucky. It's changed its shape and is more like a flying saucer in the shape of a rectangular wafer.
The feel of the Magic Mouse is like sliding on glass just like an ice-skater glides. Smooth riding. All of you out there will need to go to a store and check it out and see how you think it feels to ride the mouse. It’s got the apple symbol on top for status ~ whoo-whoo.
I'm wondering if there is another label we can use for Magic Mouse? Or, as all things that retain some vestige of their past history, we will always call this type of device a "mouse."
My True Life Experience With This Mouse Without A Tail
I simply don't use it. After a few weeks of constantly having to put in NEW BATTERIES, I decided to pull out my old faithful plug-in logitech and I no longer have to wait or look for the BLUETOOTH SIGNAL. I no longer have to turn the on/off button worrying about using up the battery. I no longer worry about misplacing the mouse that has no hard wire connection to the computer. I'm simply not using this brand new fangled thing, that seemed so fantastic and fancy, but caused frustrations and worries. Cause what do you do when you lose power?

Please Post Your Comments About Your Experience with Mighty Mouse.
Dear John ~ I have stopped using the Mighty Mice and simply use the pad now. Go to your menu at the top of page and you will find a drop down for spell check.
As an update on this hubpages article. I sent my mighty mouse to my son who uses it daily and gets the most enjoyment. I guess he's figured out how to save the battery life inside that little guy.
Brutally honest at the end, made me laugh. I think the newer models turn off automatically to save power, but still chew through a few batteries ... why not make them rechargeable like mobiles!?
Thanks for SHARING.
Hello Brett ~ I ended up giving the mouse to my son, who I'm sure doesn't use it now, since he got the iPad. So, everything is obsolete. Thanks for commenting. Blessings, Debby
