What do you do to prevent snoring?

People of all age ranges can have the problem of snoring during sleep. Even little children can snore from congestion & colds. If this is a chronic problem, have you had solutions for both the person who has this symptom and the rest of the household who must endure the noise interrupting their own peace of mind?

C-Pap was the only answer that worked in our house. It put a stop to apnea and snoring.

Thanks DuffsMom. Having an external support system to continuously provide mild airway pressure will  keep the airways open. How comfortable is C-Pap for the wearer?

Sad to say, for me, not comfortable at all.  I could experiment with masks but each set is about $480 (for plastic!!)- thank goodness I have insurance.   But wearing it is much better than waking up with a panic attacks form lack of air!!

I'm sorry to hear this news. Maybe there are some natural solutions to the snoring. Many people may need to lose weight to alleviate the pressure throughout the sinuses and throat. Homeopathy addresses some snoring issues. Oreganol oil & other he

I sleep on my side, sleeping on my back causes some snoring at times -- so I'm  told!

People who have sleep apnea will have a difficult time sleeping on their back. They will not get oxygen and jerk away, then turn over on their side.

My husband was diagnosed with severe sleep apnoea and had to use a CPAP machine. Even though his sleep apnoea improved with EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), he still snores, so now he wears the CPAP more for my sake (so I can sleep). I love that machine because it really reduces his snoring to practically no sound at all.

Sleep on your side, keep your nasal passages clear (use a neti pot), strengthen your throat and jaw with exercises and singing. ANd use one of those breatheright strips they are hands down the best thing you can do for your quality of breathing while you sleep. If only someone would invent a long lasting one that didnt have to sit against your skin I would pay for that for sure!
